RangeVision DIY: My Stereo Rig Solution

I'm kicking off my RangeVision DIY build with a cheap and simple solution for a stereo camera setup, perfect for systems with fixed angle cameras like the Flexscan or HP, here's how it goes.

I'm using an Arca Style clamp (bought a cheap one, online). To get the mounting holes just right, I printed a 2D view from the Daheng step file onto regular paper and taped it to the clamps as a guide.

Then, it was just a few holes with a pillar drill and some common M3x12 screws. Super straightforward!

I haven't done with it, hopefully will finish all of it next week. Any thoughts?

Check alignment once everything's assembled, especially with stereo cams since angles matter a lot
 
Also, double-check clamp rigidity once mounted. cheaper Arca clamps can flex under load, which might throw off calibration.

idk if you've thought about this, but the real test will be during the system calibration.
Those fixed angle systems are super sensitive. Make sure your mounting allows for precise alignment, and be prepared to run the calibration routine a few times until it's spot on
 
It seems like you're off to a good start. Just ensure that your mounts are sturdy enough to prevent any slight shifts while capturing, particularly during the calibration process
